Christian Bale Neogtiating Terminator 4 December 2, 2007

What better actor to play John Connor or the Terminator than a beefed up Christian Bale?

After seeing what he can do with his body in American Psycho, and with all the different roles he’s played (The Prestige, Rescue Dawn, American Psycho, The Machinist), its clear he’d be a win for either role. This is exciting news for the new line of Terminator films. Three sequels are planned now that spawn the war against the machines. Terminator 4 is to be called Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. Bit of a silly name; should have kept it simple. Either way, doesn’t affect the movie itself, right?

Feel free to head on over to Yahoo to read more about Christian Bale and Terminator 4.

Smile at the Airport (They’re Watching) August 16, 2007

An interesting article over at MSNBC indicates that the airports will now be visually monitoring your behavior.

They’re called “Behavioral Detection Officers,” and they’re watching your expressions for signs of “danger.” Micro-expressions, as the line of study is called, indicate how you’re really feeling through small facial actions which could indicate things like anger. Have you ever been angry at an airport?  This sounds promising.

Click through to the MSNBC aricle for more details on the “face police,” coming soon to an airport near you.

Workout Progress August 10, 2007

I haven’t written about my weightlifting in a while. I’d like to change that by showing some before and after pics. The picture on the left was taken in April. The picture on the right was taken this week. A tan really makes things look better :)

My back in April and in August

I’m going to post about what my routine has been like and how much I’ve progressed over this period of time. To be honest, I missed out on 3 weeks of workouts through June and July and at least 2 weeks between April and May. I’m back on track now and working harder than ever.

Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom

Posted by Joe in : Entertainment , add a comment
Print This Post Print This Post

My girlfriend and I recently went to Dorney Park. Its a 2 hour drive from our house but friends said it was worthwhile. We live right down the road from Six Flags Great Adventure here in NJ, which also has a water park (Hurricane Harbor). In search of something new, away we went to Dorney Park.

We bought discounted tickets from Acme for $27 a piece. That was a bargain since its good for both parks. Unfortunately, we only went to one.

Wild Water Kingdom, to be frank, sucked. Let’s just call it Calm Dribble Pond. The slides sucked. They were slow, lines were long, and there wasn’t much variety. The two lazy rivers were packed with people and had way too many waterfalls making it not so lazy. You also had to wait in line to get in the lazy river. What the hell is that?

But my biggest gripe?  Chairs. There were maybe 100 chairs available for laying out and leaving your towel, sunblock, etc. for easily 500-1,000 people. Maybe more. Rediculous. We ended up having to leave our things on the grass behind the main wave pool. Oh, and they advertise their huge wave pool (millions of gallons, blah blah) on their website, but when you get there, it’s divided in two sections, and one of the sections is closed off. Needless to say, everyone gets crammed into one half of the wave pool. Lame.

So, after sweating our asses off waiting in line for the lazy river for about a half hour in 100 degree heat, we decided to go home. Screw Dorney Park and Steel Force and all the rest. Not a good experience. There wasn’t even 1/10th enough seating if you wanted to buy food in the water park. Are you supposed to eat it standing up?  I don’t understand what the problem with chairs is for Dorney Park.

I’ll upload a few pictures I snapped (later today) of everyone sitting on grass and the 80 or so chairs there were available by the wave pool. Quite amusing.

BSN No-Xplode, CellMass, Syntha-6, and Nitrix Reviews

For those of you who are in to weightlifting, you might use creatine, protein, or other performance-enhancing products to help get you to your goals. If not, prepare to be introduced.

I’m taking the following supplements to help build muscle:

No-Xplode

No-Xplode is a product by BSN (along with the other products I’m on) that provides several benefits. Supposedly, all the various ingredients (tons and tons of chemicals, a proprietary blend, and creatine) provide enhanced focus and brain stimulation, instantly improved vascularity (visible, prominent veins with more fluid getting pumped through because of nitric oxide), and improved strength. You can read more about it at BodyBuilding.com.

So does it work?  Read on to find out.

America Stands Watch, September 4th, 2007 July 30, 2007

Print This Post Print This Post

If you’re as dissatisfied with Congress as the rest of us, clear your calendar for September 4th.

That’s the day Congress reconvenes after summer recess. It’s also the day a group called America Stands Watch is organizing a silent protest in the Senate and House of Representatives galleries. A peaceful protest that tells our Congressmen “Hey, we’re watching you - and we don’t like what you’re doing.”

All you have to do is sign up on the website to let them know you’re coming, and come September 4th, you’ll go to D.C. and get your ticket to enter either the House or Senate gallery and take a seat. At a given signal, all members of the group will stand together in silent protest.

Keep in mind, you are not allowed to bring anything into Congress, like buttons, pins, signs, cameras, etc.; this is an entirely silent protest. No one needs to get themselves in trouble.

It sounds like a good idea to me. Writing letters and leaving voicemails with Congress really doesn’t seem to get the job done, so maybe with a few hundred or few thousand people standing watch over them, something will change.

U.S. to give $30 Billion for Military Aid to Israel

Over at the NYTimes, there’s an article about Bush authorizing a $30 billion dollar aid package to Israel’s military, payable over the next ten years.

Now, its one thing to help Israel defend itself from terrorists and all, but why is it that this aid package is an increase of 25% more than what we were already giving them?  Simple: The United States is preparing to sell arms packages (you know, guns, explosives, ammunition) to places like Saudi Arabia. Israel didn’t like that idea very much, seeing as how many of  the Gulf states constantly exchange fire with Israelis, so we went ahead and upped Israel’s aid to thwart… our weapons?  I guess so!

The New Incredible Hulk

Print This Post Print This Post

If you haven’t heard, there’s another Incredible Hulk in the works, due out in summer of 2008.

This one completely starts fresh with its own version of the Hulk’s story. It should share little in common with the previous Ang Lee attempt at bringing Hulk to the big screen.

Concept art of the Hulk’s face was released at ComicCon this year and you can check it out at firstshowing.net.

This movie looks promising. First and foremost, you have Edward Norton playing Bruce Banner. In addition to playing Bruce/Hulk, Edward also rewrote the original script to the movie to make it his own. This way, I imagine he’ll be able to play the part to the best of his ability since it truly is his part.

I’ve always loved the Hulk, but the 2003 Ang Lee movie debut just plain sucked. It had potential, but it was overall too bland and without wit. Eric Bana did not live up to his potential, and the Hulk’s CGI was a bit too cartoonish. Here’s hoping this new iteration will really live up to the fans’ hopes.

I know my last post indicated that I’d be writing more frequently, and since then… 0 posts.

Sorry!  I’m definitely going to begin writing more, starting today. I’ll be on vacation this week in Ocean City, MD, so when I get back, the flood gates will open. I’ll also be sure to write about Ocean City since I haven’t been there before.

Look forward to many, many more posts!
